Why I Appreciate Educators

Between working as a teacher's aid in Japan and substituting for high school teachers, I've had over 8 years of experience in the educational field. Seeing how much work teachers put in to educating students every day is both humbling and inspiring. As a writer, I'm in debt to educators for bringing the gifts of literacy to our society. You make it possible for us authors to continue telling stories.

Since I know creating lessons can be hard work, I wanted to offer free supplemental material for educators to use in their classrooms. I've had educational classes at CSU Fullerton and have tried to adapt my activities to the California Common Core Standards. My hope is that I am able to create educational resources of value for teachers and students.

Elementary School Author Talk
In this YouTube video, I describe how to be a writer for elementary school students during Green Tree East Leadership Academy's Library Reading Night. I talk about my life as an elementary school student, how I decided to be a writer, and tips for students on how to start writing, in hopes of inspiring students to pursue their dreams
